Sprinkle in Fur Details

Ok, so maybe we aren’t reinventing the wheel with this one, but one thing rings true this year…faux fur is a designer favorite. We recommend adding fur pillows and throws to you sofas and beds for added coziness. But don’t stop there! Pull a sheepskin bench up to you dining table and cover patio chairs around the fire pit with small sheepskin rugs, for a look that screams ski lodge chic.

Add in Rustic Touches

Rustic touches can come in the form of a cowhide chair or a gorgeous antler chandelier. If that’s too rustic for you, bring in burlwood accents (it’s a very popular trend right now.) Pull out your taxidermy (it is the Ozarks after all), or opt for a ceramic version if hunting isn’t your thing. We love swapping artwork out for more rustic imagery during the winter too!

Use Velvet, Velvet, Velvet and More Velvet

Velvet is an amazing way to amp up the cozy level in your space. Its luxurious, but also comfy, soft and adds lots of visual texture. Work in velvet bedding, pillows, furniture pieces and drapery. Switching out lightweight drapery for rich velvet ones can make a huge difference in the how inviting your space is. We like using velvet in rich colors for added luxury.

Make it Winter White

There’s no rule that says rustic and cozy can’t be white! We love wintery whites, mixed with doe prints, and patina texture. The look is chic with a touch of whimsy.
